At the barber's by St Mary's Square, 1881

In 1881, in the Pod Murzynami house opposite St Mary's Church, Tadeusz Wiskida ran a hairdressing business “for Ladies and Gentlemen”, with a salon for shaving, haircutting and hair curling. On Friday 25 November 1881 the city signed a contract for a horse-drawn railway known as the tramway. The first line opened on 31 October 1882 along the old omnibus route, through the gate and along Floriańska Street, past the church. The illustration shows Floriańska Street in 1862, seen from under St Florian's Gate. The Pod Murzynami house stands at the far end, by the church.
